The first Ecotourism Fair, organized last weekend by Sibiu County in the pavilion of the Astra Multicultural Museum in Sibiu within the framework of the Wandering Years (Anii Drumeției) program, showed the interested public attractive offers from all over the county.
“The fair brings together the ecotourism offer of the whole Sibiu County: authentic experiences, local tastes and opportunities to spend free time in nature, through sporting, recreational and cultural activities. The fair serves as a source of inspiration for planning free days, be it an extended vacation or a long weekend, and for meaningful activities that are good for the body, mind and soul,” say the organizers.
As far as the region’s cultural highlights are concerned, the fortified churches play an important role as recognizable landmarks of the villages and the landscape. For young and old, they are places of history, waiting to be discovered. For this reason, there was a colorful mix of information material and games at the fortified churches foundation’s stand, which attracted many interested visitors to the fair and invited them to linger.
Interesting encounters, good conversations and exciting presentations about biological diversity, examples of sustainable tourism, culinary worlds of experience or, for example, rules for good behavior in the mountains and on hikes, rounded off the variety of activities on the two days of the fair.
