{"id":3795,"date":"2016-11-16T14:57:01","date_gmt":"2016-11-16T14:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/en\/die-zukunft-religioesen-kulturerbes-in-europa\/"},"modified":"2016-12-12T15:07:50","modified_gmt":"2016-12-12T15:07:50","slug":"die-zukunft-religioesen-kulturerbes-in-europa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/en\/die-zukunft-religioesen-kulturerbes-in-europa\/","title":{"rendered":"The Future of Religious Heritage in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 9 to 11 Novembe<a href=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161111_110035-e1479812765914.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3777\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3777 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161111_110035-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Library_Verona\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>r the European association <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frh-europe.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cFuture for Religious Heritage\u201d<\/a> invited it\u2019s members and other participants to the 2016 Biennial Conference titled: <a href=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/PROGRAMME_160824.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\">&#8220;Tourists, Travellers &amp; Pilgrims &#8211; Encountering Religious Heritage in Today&#8217;s Europe&#8221;<\/a> to Vicenza, Italy.<\/p>\n<p>Besides a great number of speeches, presentations, discussions, and debates the FRH Conference Committee also offered an interesting and diverse program \u2013 discovering the picturesque region of \u201cVeneto\u201d with the lovely cities of Vicenza, Venice and Verona where the participants encountered many cultural treasures.<a href=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161110_153832-e1479812804296.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3765\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3765 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161110_153832-e1479307162417-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Among others the answers to the following questions were sought: how can religious heritage sites do justice to the expectations, demands and needs of their visitors? How can we manage the balancing act between conserving the sacred sites and opening them towards today\u2019s tourists? What exactly are people looking for when they visit religious sites and how can we create incentives?<\/p>\n<p>Best practice examples of fundraising activities and promising ideas for new usage of religious sites as w<a href=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161110_130731-e1479812961687.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3771\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3771 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kirchenburgen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161110_130731-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Presentation - Fortified Churches of Transylvania\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>ell as new ways of communication and future perspectives were all topics during the three-day conference. Besides the many issues raised during the program, the more than 130 participants from all over Europe were always involved in lively discussions.
