Projects and Consulting

Our main task is to save endangered fortified churches and churches. This also includes the inventory, the décor and furnishings and the annex buildings belonging to the ensembles, such as parish houses, schools and cultural buildings.

We always base the planning of repairs on the individual circumstances of the respective objects and coordinate them with the stakeholders involved on site. Together we discuss possible and necessary courses of action and weigh up which measures make sense. Our activities range from emergency securing of monuments and maintenance and repair work to comprehensive repairs. All work is preceded by documentation in the form of inventory descriptions, photographs, drawings and further research.

In all our activities, we are guided by the international standards of monument preservation.

COOPERATION OFFER AND PHASES OF COLLABORATION WITH PARTNERS

The Fortified Churches Foundation offers a structured cooperation model for various partners such as local community associations (HOG), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and private individuals.

Our Approach:

1. INITIAL INFORMATION AND STARTER PACKAGE
Each inquiry is initially answered with a written offer outlining the steps and services involved. This first information package already includes a starter package of consultancy services, funded by the Fortified Churches Foundation.

The starter package includes:
Two on-site meetings at the fortified church:
o Monument preservation and construction: Discussions with Sebastian Bethge
o Usage concept, tourism, and promotion: Discussions with Cristian Cismaru

Two roadmaps after the first meeting, which may include the following information:
o Detailed explanations and integration into our programs with minimum contribution amounts (valid for 2025 in EUR):

Emergency Program: €2,500 – €4,000
Maintenance Program: €1,500 – €2,000
Roof Program: €20,000 – €30,000

o A brief description of the necessary steps for the desired projects in the areas of monument preservation and tourism/usage.

2. DETAILED OFFER
After the starter package, partners receive a detailed offer that includes:

Our services:
o Detailed roadmaps with information on necessary construction measures, official permits, usage concepts, and marketing
o Consultation on optimizing project costs, saving time, and increasing project visibility
o Recommendations for architectural firms, construction managers, restorers, and suppliers
o Management of donations through the support association (accounting & project management)
o Promotion support by the Foundation, including weekly contributions

Pricing proposals for collaboration:
o €2,000 for projects up to €20,000
o 10% of project costs for projects exceeding €20,000

3. CONTRACT CONCLUSION
Before any work begins, a contract is signed with clearly defined obligations for both parties.
