The Romanian President Nicușor Dan and the German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier have taken over the joint patronage of the Fortified Churches Foundation.

The restoration of these churches is equivalent to reaffirming the values that inspired their founding within Romania’s natural and architectural landscape: beauty, durability, harmony of proportions, and the aspiration toward universality. I am pleased to grant my High Patronage to the Fortified Churches Foundation, whose prestigious activity in the field of restoration demonstrates respect, fidelity, and responsibility toward the built heritage.
