A New Lease of Life for the Fortified Church of Maniersch

Those who have visited Maniersch in recent weeks have surely noticed that something is happening: inside the old fortified church, hammers have been at work, boards adjusted, and careful repairs carried out – all with great attention and love for detail.

In the church tower, the wooden staircase has been repaired, damaged boards of the battlement walkway replaced, and a bird protection system installed. The roof has also received attention, with tiles and brick coverings on the buttresses being carefully fixed.

The gate tower has likewise been a busy site: new floors have been laid on all levels, roof tiles repaired, a service ladder installed, and the entrance area thoroughly cleaned – now ready once again to be entered and admired.

The project was supervised by Sebastian Bethge from the Fortified Churches Foundation, who coordinated and supported the works with professional expertise.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone involved!
Every repair, every replaced tile is a small yet meaningful step towards keeping the fortified church of Maniersch alive – as a silent witness of history and a place for community and togetherness.
