Our work on the conservation and restoration of fortified churches is carried out on many different levels. Some of the projects can be assigned to programmes, others are individually developed and very much tailored to local conditions. In any case, our projects pursue the goal of maintaining and preserving historic structures and making them safe accessible to future generations.
The structural interventions for this can be small-scale or large-scale, they can be limited to repairs or also include research and documentation of the history of the buildings. As a rule, the fortified churches are the focus of our work – that is, the churches and their surrounding fortifications. In exceptional cases, however, we also work beyond this.
The following is an overview of important projects we have carried out in recent years.
