From June 24 to 29, 2024, the 2nd monument preservation campaign will take place at Tarteln Fortified Church, which means that maintenance work and minor repairs will be carried out. As last year, the “Friends of Tarteln Fortified Church” initiative and the Fortified Churches Foundation invite you to join them and save the 13th century Romanesque basilica from decay. In addition to removing excessive vegetation and tidying up, wooden elements inside the bell tower will also be repaired. The project is being supervised by Joachim Gherghel, who launched the initiative, and Sebastian Bethge from the Fortified Churches Foundation, who is coordinating the works. Helpers are very welcomed, whether on a daily basis or for the whole week and lunch is provided.
