At the end of June, essential maintenance and repair work was carried out at the fortified church in Tobsdorf. The main focus was on roof repairs: loose ridge tiles on the chancel roof were secured, damaged tiles on the nave roof were replaced, and at the west gable, both the mortar capping and the row of cornice tiles were renewed.
To improve future maintenance access, wooden walkways were installed in the attic.
The churchyard was also thoroughly cleared of overgrown vegetation and the grass was mown — an important step in preserving the site’s tidy and cared-for appearance.
These emergency measures were necessary to prevent further damage to the historic building. However, a long-term restoration of the roof remains essential to ensure the church’s structural integrity for the future.
